Bridges to Hope and partners attend Justice Center Conference

Forsyth County Bridges to Hope staff and partner agencies attended the Fifth Annual North Carolina Family Justice Center and Collaborative Communities Conference on September 13-14 in Greensboro.

Our community sent 25 representatives across nine agencies representing Children's Law Center, Family Services, Forsyth County District Attorney's Office, Eliza's Helping Hands, Legal Aid of North Carolina, Winston-Salem Police Department, Forsyth County Sherrif's Office, The Parenting Path and Forsyth County Government.

Sessions included speakers from the Alliance for Hope International law enforcement agencies, a survivor panel, and topics included trauma informed courtrooms, victim rights, children affected by trauma, offender accountability and legislative information about civil protective orders.

"This was an informative and educational conference that inspired and motivated participants to keep interpersonal violence matters front and center in communities,” says Bridges to Hope Director DeWanna Hamlin. “Interpersonal violence affects individuals, families, and communities and requires community systems solutions for resolving complex problems around safety, housing, and accountability."
