As winds have decreased, Saturday, particle pollution values have risen back to code YELLOW. A disturbance will develop just off of the SC coast, pushing clouds and showers into the Triad, later Sunday. An overnight inversion will push particle pollution higher, initially, then as clouds overspread the region, air mass mixing will be limited during the afternoon, thus particle pollution will continue code YELLOW, Sunday. Behind the departing system, high pressure will settle overhead leading to strong overnight inversions and light winds during the day, Monday and Tuesday. As a result, MODERATE particle pollution looks to continue the first two days of the week (GENTRY).
