On David Platoon, Deputy Burns, Deputy Marso, Deputy Ingram, and Deputy Cline exemplify professionalism and dedication. On 12/20/2024, These deputies were proactively patrolling a high crime area within their assigned zone. Deputy Cline observed a vehicle with a fictitious tag and marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle. When Deputy Cline attempted to perform a traffic stop, the offender chose to flee. Deputy Cline gave chase with his co-workers joining to assist. Deputy Marso assumed the role of secondary unit and began calling out the chase giving updated locations and speeds.
The pursuit ended when the offender lost control of his vehicle sliding off the roadway into a parked car. The offender's vehicle was inoperable. There was a total of four (4) individuals in the car including the driver. Two (2) of the occupants ran on foot after the suspect wrecked. Deputy Cline, Deputy Ingram, and Deputy Burns did not hesitate and gave chase. Deputy Marso apprehended the driver while the other occupants were being pursued. All subjects in the car were eventually apprehended. One of the occupants had an outstanding warrant for his role in the shooting that occurred at Reynolds High School the previous week. All four deputies placed their lives in danger without hesitation. They worked as a team and accomplished their mission to keep the citizens of Forsyth County safe. For their courageous action, we honor them as staff members of the month.
