Steven Younts has been selected as the Civilian Employee of the Month for June 2026. Steven joined FCSO in August 2025. He has done an excellent job in the role as the Director of Business Operations. In addition to learning and managing the daily operations, he has worked diligently in “kicking off” and directing the FY2027 Budget development cycle, which occurs over an eight-month period. The FY2027 budget cycle has included several budgeting challenges requiring extensive analysis, communication, and negotiation both within FCSO and the County Budget Office. While managing the Budget Process, he has coordinated a Request for Proposal for commissary services for the Detention Center and worked with the Budget Office and County Commissioners on addressing additional funding requirements based on a significant increase in inmate population at the Detention Center. Also, he worked with the Duke University AED Grant contact person and team to update the existing Grant funding, reporting, and the future grant operating budget. These are just a few of his projects and accomplishments that he has managed in addition to daily job requirements. Steven is very professional and is an excellent communicator. He is conscientious and desires to do the best job possible to identify and manage the funding necessary to meet agency goals and directives. Given his successful completion of the budget cycle while successfully managing daily operations is the reason he has been chosen as the Civilian Staff Member of the Month.
