No-Till Drill

The Forsyth Soil & Water Conservation District has received a no-till grass drill to rent to farmers in Forsyth County. The drill was obtained through the financial support of the NC Foundation for Soil & Water Conservation and the Altria Group, Inc.

The drill is a Truax Flex II 88 end wheel model, and requires at least a 40- horsepower tractor with hydraulic capacity. Seeding width is 5.3 feet and transport width is 9 feet. The drill weighs 3,000lbs. and can be towed by a pickup truck.

The drill is capable of planting warm season grass, fescue, orchard grass, clover, small grain and soybeans.
