Mostly sunny, warm, humid, conditions exist across the region, Thursday. Particle pollution levels have jumped considerably, back to mid code YELLOW, as a swath of smoke moves through the area. Ozone is also higher and will top out in upper code GREEN or low code YELLOW. Friday's weather will be similar except for a few more clouds. Particle pollution and ozone will also remain in the code YELLOW category. A cold front will approach the Triad, Saturday. Additional clouds and a better chance of showers and thunderstorms will help to lower ozone back to code GREEN. Particle pollution readings will also decrease but may remain in the lower code YELLOW range. Sunny, drier, cleaner conditions, Sunday, behind the front, will likely drop both ozone and particle pollution back to code GREEN (GENTRY).
