The Forsyth County Office of Environmental Assistance and Protection provides public notice before issuing certain air quality permits such as Significant Title V Modifications. These notices are also mailed to persons on the Department’s mailing list. Contact Peter Lloyd to sign up for this list. The public notices allow at least 30 days for public comment on the draft permits. If significant comments are received or the Director determines that the public interest will be served, a public hearing will be held on the draft permit.

Hybrid Public Meeting and Hearing Participation Procedures
The Office of Environmental Assistance and Protection is conducting in-person public meetings and hearings with an option to join virtually. Members of the public may attend these meetings in-person or online using a computer, tablet or smartphone, or by telephone. If you wish to speak at a public meeting or hearing, you must notify this Office when you arrive or when you register if joining virtually. The hearing officer may limit the length of oral presentations if necessary to accommodate all persons wishing to comment. Any person providing oral comments for a public hearing is requested to submit a written statement for inclusion in the record of the proceedings.Anyone wishing to attend a meeting virtually must register by phone, 336-703-2440 or email Valerie Shores to receive instructions for joining the meeting. Persons registering by phone will receive a call-in number to use at the time of the meeting. Persons registering by email will receive a MS Teams link as well as the alternative call-in number.

| 2020 Public Notice | The Forsyth County Office of Environmental Assistance and Protection is pleased to present its Five Year Air Quality Monitoring Assessment for review and comment. The U.S. EPA requires accredited State and Local monitoring agencies to conduct an assessment of their air quality monitoring network every five years. This assessment reviews changes in Forsyth County (population, demographics, traffic, meteorology, etc.) and the adequacy of the County's monitoring network for establishing the area's compliance with the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). In addition, the monitoring network is established to assure timely air quality information that may impact Forsyth County residents.
