This week in Summer Reading!

You’ve signed up for a reading log and you’ve been relaxing with those exciting new books. Summer Reading is in full swing. Now it is time to be tempted by the diversity of entertaining and educational programs being offered throughout the system this summer. Here's just a small sampling of what's happening this week.

Clemmons Branch Library will be hosting a magical visit with Captain Jim, the Pirate Magician- Thursday, June, 25 starting at 3:30pm, don't miss this swashbuckling adventure! On Friday, the Bright Star Touring Theatre will be at the Reynolda Manor Branch, with their "Captain Friendship and the Bully Bandit" production. This super hero-themed show is designed to offer young audiences the opportunity to stand up to a bullying bandit while empowering themselves in the process.

Get your hands dirty by uncovering ways scientists become scholarly heroes, helping us to understand our human race at the WFU Museum of Anthropogly's "Discover" program at our Walkertown Branch, Monday June 22 @ 10am. And if you are into gaming, our Southside Branch is hosting a Teen Gaming Cafe, Thursday, June 25th starting at 2pm.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be playing on Monday, June 22 (starting at 6pm) at Clemmon's Marvel Movie Mondays.

Don’t forget our Summer Reading prizes: every reader that completes a summer reading log (that’s 480 minutes for kids and teens, 3 books for adults) will be entered into drawings for Barnes & Noble gift cards worth $25 and $100, AND every child under the age of 13 who completes a reading log will also be entered into a drawing to win two free tickets to a Wake Forest football game.
