Refrigerator art raises awareness of high quality pre-K programs in Forsyth County

If you see a refrigerator at Central Library this week, don't try to open it for snacks, but do enjoy the creative artwork provided by area children. The refrigerator is part of a community initiative called "The Pre-K Priority," which is focused on raising awareness of the importance of high quality pre-K programs in Forsyth County.

There are 4,500 four-year-olds in Forsyth County, but only 1,500 children are enrolled in high-quality, publicly funded pre-K programs.

The refrigerators have been saved from the landfill and and each one features different art. There will be a number of refrigerators placed around town from now until the end of the year. They'll move around, so watch for one to come to a location near you.
