December's issue of Forsyth County News is out now!
In this month's edition:
- Homebuyer Resource Fair a Success: The November resource fair connected first-time homebuyers with lenders, realtors, and partner programs. 19 lenders and community partners participated, and 75 attendees took part.
- Pet Food Drive Helps Families: The Forsyth County Animal Shelter and the Forsyth Humane Society distributed over 2,000 pounds of donated pet food to more than 100 families during the “Keep Them Home for the Holidays” event.
- County Commissioner Update: The December meeting schedule is posted. The final meeting of the year is Thursday, Dec. 18 at 6 p.m.
- Free Flu Shots Available: Free flu vaccines are available at the Forsyth County Department of Public Health, 799 Highland Ave. No appointment needed.
- County Employees Raise Over $12,000 for United Way: County staff raised $12,188.09 during the October workplace campaign to benefit the United Way of Forsyth County.
- Domestic Violence During the Holidays: Bridges to Hope Family Justice Center provides advice on how to support someone experiencing abuse and resources that are available.
- Healthy Forsyth - Wellness While Waiting: The Healthy Forsyth program continues its work to address health disparities in parts of Forsyth by bringing wellness resources to a local food pantry.
- Other highlights include Candidate Filing for 2026 elections, the Minority Diabetes Prevention Program helped a 98-year-old resident maintain her health, the NC Cooperative Extension Center spotlighted local farms during Farm City Week, and more.
